snoop1130 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 District chief finds everything quiet and respectful in Samui entertainment venues The Koh Samui district chief sent his staff in to inspect entertainment venues at Chaweng beach but found that operators and tourists were respecting the somber mood asked for this October. In line with government requests for respect during the late monarch's cremation period Klanarong Yutitham sent in Tawatchai Bunmeechai to take a look at what was happening in the usually vibrant area of Chaweng. And he liked what he saw. Tourists were out but things were quiet and the music had been turned down. At venues that would normally have live music there were no bands. At the Ark Bar they had set up a picture of Rama IX with a noticeboard in English to explain things and post notices about the cremation arrangements, reported Daily News. Tawatchai handed out some helpful information and expressed satisfaction that calls for cooperation from operators and the public in maintaining decorum through October were being upheld.
