keeping utility tax receipt/invoice?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am wondering if I should keep the original utility tax receipts/invoice e.g. DTAC, MEA, Water Bill from my condo etc. as an original in a folder or if it's good enough to have a scan of it? Do I need to keep a copy of those documents at all? Could you think of any situation where I would need to proof that payment was done? I am not sure what the situation is in Thailand with these things but any advice will be appreciated :)

Yes,keep all your receipts from any utility bills, especially so if you

pay by cash at 7-11 etc.

We have had problems with Electric and Water company, for our house

and rental properties, and without the receipts it would have been near

impossible to prove the invoices had been paid.so always keep them,

it's not a big problem, and could save you money and hassle one day.

Always keep the first recept or two that show any extra/starting charges and such as they might be required for refunds or proof you paid start up costs.  I keep other for six months or so (but should not need to keep more than current as most will have record of last paid bill on them.

This is not a legal view - just what I do (do not like to keep every scrap).
