Police have arrested a homeless man for allegedly killing another homeless man whose body was found behind a Bangkok market on Monday afternoon.

Wiroj Faengrit reportedly confessed to the crime and claimed that the 33-year-old victim Yodchai Juntha had berated him with an insulting remark about his parents while the two men drank alcohol together the previous night.

He claimed that Yodchai tried to choke him so he hit Yodchai in the head with a wooden stick before fleeing the scene.

Pol Captain Worapoj Tankaew, deputy inspector at Samsen police, said Yodchai's body was found in a pool of blood at 1pm near a campsite for construction workers behind the Thewarat Market on Si Ayutthaya road in the Vajiraphayabal sub-district of Bangkok’s Dusit district.

He had a severe wound above his left ear, apparently inflicted by a hard object.
