Cars abandoned as northern Bangkok floods again after heavy rain

Thai Rath reported that Chaeng Wattana Road was badly hit by flooding last night as one hour of torrential rain hit the northern Bangkok area.

An 800 meter stretch of the main artery in Pak Kret was flooded over the footpaths as smaller vehicles struggled to traverse the road between the expressway and Central department store.

Many vehicles broke down and had to be temporarily abandoned.

The Jewish folk came up with a 'good one' some years back: "Pride goes before destruction..." If only the management would humble themselves to seek advisement from a flood prone society that have managed well in such circumstance: i.e. the Dutch **sigh** To be fair, maybe the locals have misinterpreted the word 'dike'.
