There will be road closures on Wednesday when HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn installs the grand ninetiered umbrella at the top of the elaborate Royal Crematorium for his late father.

The umbrella will be placed at the apex of the Royal Crematorium’s principal pavilion.

On Tuesday, traffic police announced that some roads will be closed during the Royal ceremony on Wednesday. The closure will be from 3pm until the event is over.

The roads to be closed are Rajinee Road from Parnpipop intersection to Phra Arthit Road; Na Pratart Road from Rajinee Road to Prajan intersection; Prajan Road from Prajan intersection to the  Maharaj intersection; and Maharat Road from the Thanon Prajan intersection to the Ta Tien intersection.

Following the installation of the ninetiered umbrella, all scaffolding will be removed from the construction site at Sanam Luang, marking the official completion of the Royal Crematorium for HM the late King.
