Will BTS take the opportunity of the new card to "catch up" with the MRT and treat all passengers equally who are more than 60 years old? At present, as in many other countries, anyone over 60 using the MRT qualifies for a so-called "Elder Card" with fare discounts. However, BTS will only give this concession to Thai nationals. They will not even extend the concession to foreigners with Work Permits, Retirement Visas, having lived many years in Thailand, and paying taxes.
