BANGKOK, 20 October 2017 (NNT) – The Deputy Governor of Bangkok has inspected sandalwood flower offering venues in the city's Talingchan, Pathumwan and Chom Thong districts ahead of the royal cremation of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Deputy Governor of Bangkok Chakkaphan Phiewngarm said 16 large sandalwood flower offering venues and 26 medium medium sized venues under the responsibility of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have been completed along with 62 funeral flower offering stations in the 50 districts of Bangkok.

The capital's Environment Office is decorating important sites with marigolds and other yellow flowers with an aim to complete the task by October 23.

The deputy governor stated that replicas of the royal funeral pyre where the sandalwood flowers will be burned in Bangkok have already been completed and the BMA will complete the construction of other planned structures by October 22.
