Thailand has reached a new high as #1 in the world
I wouldn’t say this is new. Been like this for decades. If a foreigners country was in the same social, economic position as Thailand and a tourist destination and the arriving tourists had 10x or whatever the income the outcome would be the same. Thais never loved foreigners just because they’re foreigners. Get over that myth. A few bucks more at national park or wherever. No big deal. Many U.S. states have lower fees for residents vs non residents. No big deal. -

UK Passport Payment Annoyance
Just to update the thread, I got an email just now that the application is accepted and they are sending the passport for printing. As far as I can tell my card has only been charged £143.51 (even though this is an outrageous cost - one of the most expensive passports in the world). So it seems whatever they did wrong on the payment it was sorted out after a phone call. Two weeks from submission to acceptance, I wonder how long till it comes back for collection. They did say approx four weeks when I applied so seems that could be about right. -
