Michael Bloomberg: Brexit is stupidest thing any country has done besides Trump

I would not agree. The british were smart enough to leave the colonialistic dogma from Bruxelles. The UE and the €uro will crash at one point.

The only doubt is when?

And why should the british taxpayers pay for the other european countries deeply in debt in their 3rd world economy governances ?

As for the pound, why not ask the UK exporters what they think as their sales soared after the pound dropped.....it's only economics...some loose while others win !

trust me Grouse, you are not special, and as I have said before, as a so called intellegent man as so are so keen a telling us then you should know better then to belittle those you think are beneath you.

No wish to belittle anyone

There are far more intelligent people than me and many are far better educated.

I guess I'm upper quartile if you like.

So so nothing special about that

I'm afraid I don't tolerate fools and will speak my mind even at the risk of causing discomfort

I am surprised that a matter of this importance was decided by a simple majority. The powers to be ,should have known that a simple majority decision, one way or another" would be divisive to say the least. Now I don't know how you all move forward without one side or the other feeling slighted  .

It wasn't a majority it was 38% of the people eligible to vote, they won the ballot 52% against 48%.They could/should have made it a majority of the eligible voters and/or all parts of the UK to vote to leave.its not over yet the first referendum did not stop the brexiters campaigning to leave the EU the will of the people was not binding then and it isn't now,as Farange said if it's "less than 60-40 voting to stay it will be unfinished business" and it is.Where are they now? rats and sinking ships come to mind.Brexit better be a massive biggely success or it could get messy,I see the new defence minister is tweeting pictures of his land rover claiming it represents the best of British "tough go anywhere in any conditions" forgetting it's owned by Tata the Indian steel behemoth.and someone tweeted that the dvl Web site shows its tax is out of date (that may be fake news) or it might show there's one rule for them and one rule for us.

You don't really do set theory or logic do you?

I've got a meccano set....not sure if that counts, but I definitely do logic.

Jean-Paul Sartre is sitting at a French cafe, revising his draft of 'Being and Nothingness'.

He says to the waitress, "I'd like a cup of coffee, please, with no cream."
The waitress replies, "I'm sorry, monsieur, but we're out of cream. How about with no milk?"

How are the EU getting on with Greece problem? Has not gone away has it, they have not got a clue about anything apart from spending other peoples money! For how many years is it since they have been able to sign off their own accounts? Had to have a whip round to make the petty cash solvent again, they are a bunch of shisters and the UK is right to be rid of them and when we go someone is going to have to contribute a lot more, wonder who that will be Mrs Merton?

Joking apart, Meccano was great; until they brought out yellow and blue parts. I really like trunnions!

Meccano porn welcome. Not allowed to mess around with girls anymore.

Don't be fooled. Meccano porn puts you on a slippery slope leading to Lego porn, the crack cocaine of porn.

I am so ashamed of myself.

And there's the truth, in full colour, that it was not a lie, but merely a suggestion .

as far as truth is concerned i [not so] humbly beg to differ. UK's net financial net contribution was never £18.2 billion per annum as the fake claim on the bus states.

The UK's EU membership fee. The UK pays more into the EU budget than it gets back. In 2016 the UK government paid £13.1 billion to the EU budget, and EU spending on the UK was forecast to be £4.5 billion. So the UK's 'net contribution' was estimated at about £8.6 billion.

This picture always reminds me about the vast sums of UK money the EU has control of. The message here is, imagine what we could do if they didn't control all this money. A properly funded NHS is a great example.

Thanks for posting it again.  It strengthens my conviction for Brexit even more

The gross amount is the amount we don't have control over though.  That's the point. The EU has control over the gross amount.

It's a bit like me taking half of your monthly income, spending some of it on my skint friends, and then buying you some stuff with it too.

The words "we send" shouldn't have been used though.

It will most interesting to see how the EU get on without the UK in the "club" almost as interesting as how the UK will get on when it finally leaves.

Problems on the horizon for the EU.

What will the Danes and Swedes do when they have to choose between accepting the Euro and getting rid of the Krona or leave the EU.

Will the Czechs leave, they are not happy.

Will the Hungarians leave they are not happy.

Will the Poles leave, they are not happy.

What will happen in Austria with the new administration.

Then there are the Greeks, this problem has not been solved. The Greeks should never been aloowed to join, they never met the financial requirements and now the EU have the problem, its been a problem for a few years and if they cannot solve a problem like Greece then I do not hold out much of a future for the block.

In the future I can see the UK along with Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland forming  a new EFTA, with trade alone being the prime mover here along with anything else of mutual benefit, an ABBA concert for instance, lets end with a smile.

Brexiteers lied about. :whistling:

They did not lie, others interpreted it that way, it was an alternative of what could be done with the money. The thing to remember here is that its easy to spend other peoples money and left wing socialsts now top draw about how to do that.

Good night all ?!

The posts were reported and they are off-topic.   Some people take things more seriously than others.   We do have the farang pub section for those who wish to have a bit more banter.   We also have a joke section which is well worth a look.

Anyway, have a good night to you and to all our posters, do try to keep banter to a minimum and stay on topic as much as possible.

But £350m per week was under the control of the EU. Scroll up to see my attempt at explaining it to you.

Never ceases to amaze me,this is the biggest remoaner lie of them all as has been explained umpteen times.

Where does it say on the bus that the NHS will get all of the money the UK gives the EU?
