I Need Some Advice/ideas

Hi all,

I need some advice from you.

This week I called my landlord to negotiate a new (lower) rental rate.

To my surprise she responded that she is missing about six months of rental fee.

OK let me tell you the story.

When I decided to rent the appartment the building agent insisted that I should send the money to her and she told me she would send it to the houseowner.

After four months living there she finaly sends me her bank number so I could pay the rent.

I asked her to give me the account number of the owner so I could send directly to her.

That she did after 4 months.

I was also asked to pay a deposit of 2 months which I did and the check I personally gave to the building agent.

I recieved a confirmation of recieving the check after 3 months (Calling her every week).

Now the owner called me and told me she never recieved those 4 months.

I called the building agent and explained the situation and told her I have proof of sending her 4 month rent and giving deposit to her.

Then I called the owner and she confirm she recieved the 4 months rent but still missing some rent from 2005.

Which months I asked her and she named 2.

I can proof at least 1 transfer.

For your info I have lost almost all of my 2005 admin due to a broken waterline in my building and me putting all of the documents on the floor at that time.

Now the building agent calls me and ask me to proof that I send the 4 month rent to her (which I have).

I called the owner and she confirms that she did recieved the 4 month rental from building agent.

So now why is the building agent asking to show me that I did send the money to her and also asking for proof that I gave her a check to cover the deposit.

I am very confused as I do not speak Thai (Just a litlle) and they speak English (Just a litlle).

Should I involve a laywer ore something?

I called my finance manager and explained it to him and he told me that foreigners do not have much change to win any court case when you can not show full evidence.

I am a bit worried and hope you can give some advice,

Alex
