Depression Damrey has covered Cambodia with its epi-centre about 150 km northeast of Phnom Penh at about 4 am today (Nov 5) and it is now moving westward at a speed of 20 km/h and is expected to weaken into low pressure cell, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

The department also warned people in 10 southern provinces to brace for heavy and very heavy rain from today until Monday as a result of low pressure cell which is covering the lower part of the South. This may case flash flood and river orverflows, it added.

The 10 provinces facing torrential rain are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phetthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

Thanks for the update...

Heavy wind gusts here in Saphan Kwai area since around 0230 this morning - no rain.

Hat Yai's had over 200mm of rain since Nov 1st, that's about half the November monthly average, it's going to be a wet month.

  • 5 weeks later...

Chumphon Town is getting a pounding.  At least around the beach we have places for the water to empty out.  From late the 5th of Nov all the way till now we have been getting rain for several hours.  Maybe a 2 or 3 hour break.  Then it starts to drizzle, and then rain heavy again.   When will it stop.
