Suspect in murder of mother and daughter re-enacts crime in Narathiwat

By The Nation

Police on Thursday took a Muslim man to re-enact how he allegedly stabbed to death a mother and daughter before dumping their bodies near a bridge in Narathiwat’s Rangae district.

Hasan Jehha was escorted by police to his father’s house in Moo 5 in Tambon Kalisa, where he allegedly stabbed Bismee Sulong, 27, and her five-year-old daughter, Nassarin Mana, last Friday night.

Hasan was then taken to a bridge where he allegedly dumped the bodies.

The bodies were found by local villagers on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking to a press conference, Pol Lt-General Ronnasilp Phusara, commissioner of Provincial Bureau 9, said Hasan had admitted that he committed the double murders.

Hasan invited the woman to his father’s house to use drugs that night and then tried to have sex with her, but she refused, prompting him to become angry and stab her. The man said the girl had woken up and witnessed the killing so he had also killed her.

He was arrested early on Wednesday.

What might the possible repercussions/penalties for a suspect be, if (s)he *refused* to participate in a re-enactment ?

[This info relates to press-conferences by the Police which involve the suspect:-

June 23, 2017

Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha on Friday once again urged The Police to end the practice of parading suspects in front of the press and forcing them to talk about their alleged crimes.

In September (2016) Prayuth first called for an end to the practice in a letter to the Ministry of Justice. Police commanders refused to comply but said they would only hold news conferences with suspects who consent.]

A man in Thailand’s deep south was thought to be making a kind gesture when he agreed to shelter a woman and her young daughter for the night after the woman told him they were fleeing domestic abuse. Instead, he made sexual advances at the woman and allegedly killed them both when she refused him.

It was a cruel ending to what sounds like a hard life for murder victims Bismi Sulong, 27, and daughter, Nasarin Mama, 5, in Narathiwat province. Their bodies were found by a local resident on Saturday under a bridge, reported Bangkok Post.

Hasan Jeha, 30, is the suspected killer and the man that sheltered them for only one night before they were found dead. He was arrested on Tuesday morning and remains in custody, where police say he has confessed to the murder and to dumping the bodies beneath the bridge.

I do know that you are just trying to be humorous , but the reality that if he was Buddhist , he would receive the same penalty as a Muslim .

He will get a long jail term for this , he wont get a "500 Baht fine" and it gets rather repetative to keep reading references to a "500 Baht fine and a Wai" .

Well as you can see nobody takes the law serious here anymore  Not when people who run over a police men and skip the country because gran father is loaded  Or a lady receives Bail when she is on death row Now my understanding is that you must know the law very well by the way you are talking so tell me How on earth can you get Bail when you are on death Row? Only way you can be set free is by clemency of the head of government So yeah using 500 Baht fine is making a mockery of the law here  He will go to jail because he dont look like he has much money  but having a couple of million in the bank might help his cause

How many crime re-enactments have taken place since the almighty PM prohibited the practice?

Or did he only ban the 'finger pointing'? But did he ban the practice or only urge and end to the practice?
