rooster59
Thailand provides 2-million-baht financial aid to quake-hit Iran The Thai government has contributed the amount of 2 million baht (about 52,000 USD) to the Iranian government as an initial assistance in earthquake relief efforts. A 7.3 magnitude earthquake with the epicenter in Halabjah, northeastern part of Iraq close to the border with Iran struck on Nov 12. The earthquake caused massive damage to the province of Kermanshah in Iran with more than 500 lives were lost and thousands of injuries including damage to basic infrastructure and houses. In response to this devastating earthquake, the Thai Government contributed the 2 million baht on humanitarian ground and served as an initial assistance to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the relief efforts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today (Nov 18). Chris Lawrence
Maybe organise some work crews to go over and help. Pay for their air-fares, food and accommodation. I am sure a lot would like to help.

Kaoboi Bebobp
Oh my. Why embarrass yourself as a nation by offering $60,000US. The government probably blows 2 million baht daily on extravagant bureaucratic lunches.

New Benz for ฿250k, even ฿2m will hardly get a good specification A-class in Thailand. I wonder what the import tax is in Iran? Just a publicity stunt done without thought as usual. Makes Thailand look like cheapskates. No time for Iran, they should look after their own every day. greatwhitenorth
Iran's quest for the development of nuclear program has been marked by enormous financial costs and risks. It is estimated that the program's cost is well over $100 billion, with the construction of the Bushehr reactor costing over $11 billion, making it one of the most expensive reactors in the world. fas.org/pub-reports/new-report-analyzing-irans-nuclear-program-costs-risks If the iranian have 100 billion for their nuclear program they don t need Thailands help. F' em. 88,000 Iranians travelled to Thailand in 2015, if they can be overcharged by more than 22 baht each, Thailand can come out ahead on the deal. 2,000,000 baht divided by 88,000 iranians is 22.7 baht/per iranian financialtribune.com/articles/people-travel/41888/thailand-eyes-more-iranian-tourists-in-2016
