Renting a condo

Recommended Posts

A work permit is not requried.

I dont think anyone does tax returns etc, not work or a business, a private arrangement,  rent on a modest condo would come in under the tax threshhold of 150k pa anyway.

Only problem is whether you are staying in Thailand on a visa. Very difficult to look after your property and tenant by remote control.

Looks like I'll have a job starting soon, so a visa won't be a problem. Cheers.

Earning passive income from rental property is allowed. Searching for renters, showing rooms, handing out keys, and typical management duties are WORK. Best to have your Thai wife or girlfriend do it for you. And the income must be reported for tax purposes so the only 100 percent legal way for they average Farang retiree to do it is to go through a Property Agency, and their cut of course required.
