That is, of course, if you count without Naam and his Bentley, and his 10,000 to 100,000 baht daily expenses, depending on his mood...and his calculations...

Naam owns a Bentley? Must be a masochist.

Naam owns a Bentley only in the hallucinations of an Isaan "tax free cash payer".

Heck. One has to put up with a lot with your partisan postings, but I think you have surpassed yourself on this occasion.

Thank you.

Now go get your shine box.

(To those who do not understand, it is a classic line from Goodfellas and  is given in the same context.)

I don't think anyone who has a Bentley that was manufactured in the past  20 years, wants it in Thailand for the simple reason that there is exceptionally limited servicing. One has to use AAS Auto Services near Don Muang and they just aren't a Bentley specialist, although they represent Porsche and the current Bentleys do have VW parts.  There is no road service network where a garage will dispatch a trained specialist to assist, and with some of the intricacies of the vehicles such as a mechanic's key to open the engine or the use of specialty mineral oils for brakes, the vehicle requires a trained competent mechanic, not some clown who patches a  Mazda fuel line with duct tape. It takes years to become a certified Bentley mechanic.

Thank you for explaining that to me. I never would have guessed.

One never knows with the simpletons of TVF. Some have not read a book in 50 years, and the books that they did read were something like Curious George or  Boy's Own Adventure Annual.

BTW, AAS does claim it can service and support Bentley. It's sort of like how some TVFers believe they have a high value to the local population. Have a shagariffic day, old bean.

You sure did get the right member to use the word simpleton as a polite descriptive.

So many of you have a low self-image.  You fancy yourselves interlopers in this country.  Soon enough you won't be welcome here, no matter how much money you spend.  Those of you here for the long-term better have your endgame strategy in order.

Instead of realizing that you all contribute to the Thai Economy the majority come up with reasons why you don't.  Your reasons, fallacious as they are, resonate with other misanthropes here who also believe that they are undeserving of thanks.   I would say that I was empathetic if I really felt that way but I do not.  What I find interesting, is the disdain trumpeted for the sex-tourist.  I think many of you partake when can but you think nothing of the hypocrisy shown to your brethren.

Even the sex-tourist spends his money here.  I would say the majority of his money spends on hotels and hookers.  The money filters all over Thailand.  It's called an economy.  The "hookers," then spend the money on silly things such as education for their children, or food.  Everyone wins.  Money that would not enter Thailand comes here by airplane mostly and I'm sure it adds up.

I spend my money here.  I should, I live here. To some of you, it may be chump change. Maybe that's true.  I, however, know that my money spends here and filters through the economy.  It has value and worth.  You can all flog yourselves if you like, but I for one know that the Thais should be grateful.

I pity many of you.

What is your contribution to the Thai economy? You are a major shareholder in a BOT register company or the likes?

If you mean the average annual living cost spending (including international school fees) than your "contribution" in contrast to affluent Bangkok society is rather marginal. From a larger economic perspective it's utterly  insignificant and wouldn't bother any decent economist.

Marginal, compared to whom?
