papa's scoot,

2012 Yamaha Nouvo SX.

Bought 2nd hand w/ 1500km on clock in 2013.

Now 14,000km.

Noticed leakage from rear aftermarket shocks;

YSS, gas/tank type.

Mech sez can replace w/ similar, 7900baht;

or stock Yamaha units, 2000baht.

He also had a YSS w/o the tank but still gas;

? 'hybrid' ? 2500B.

Looked good; did that.

Seems smoother.

Fitted some small Hi Output speakers in the pipes. Wired to a 1000 W amplifier. Downloaded HD straight pipe sounds, mixed with some 125cc Honda Wave at 10,000 RPM for that Hi Pitched obnoxious sound, put on memory card.

Now it will be REALLY loud 555

Piston Broke will not like that. ????

I'd like to do that with one of those electric pocket mini bikes just for fun.

You might want to use some lower strength thread lock if you ever want to get the screws out again. Not sure how strong that stuff actually is but if it is the same as Loctite permanent thread lock you won't get them out again. I use the stuff below.

Yeah thanks, it doesn't read as permanent solution I will try undoing when I get some pretty fairing screws I'm gonna order.

I've just use old screws for now just to stop flapping about.

Just shows how bad roads are for old sportsbikes. ????

If I have to drill out in the places the screws came loose and fell off it will not be a problem.

I  have used "superglue"  as a thread locker and it works quite well, almost as good as sticking fingers together ????

Superglue is what I used before but on the much longer road trip we did to Nan a few fairing screws came loose still, that's why l bought the hard stuff. ????

Adjusted my MotoGP gearshift change, the lever little to high.

Cleaned rear brake caliper and installed new pads.

So now must order new rear caliper brake pad piston and rubber kit, piston so hard to push back in.

Not the bike - but the gear.

Getting cool here for morning rides. Went looking for my HD leather jacket.

Wife wrapped it in plastic when we had the house rewired.

One big mold pool. Sprayed with vinegar, hung in the sun.

Washed the stains off and treated it.

Good to go.

I’ve tried everything to keep mold and the smell off leather but I have a litre of Singer Sewing  Machine oil and cleaned the white mold off my favorite shoes then treated them liberally with this oil

Ive just left them where I can keep an eye on them for a month now and so far so good and the mold smell is almost gone (no smell from this oil it seems)

For my leather jacket I get the take care leathers stuff from Lazada, I used a similar stuff in UK, the jacket is about 45 years old. ????

I find that a leather conditioner works well. Use the Waxy brand here. Twice a year seems to keep it at bay.

Vinegar works well to kill the mold spores, and gets rid of the smell.

My first year here, still went back for work.

Left my car parked, came back and it was a mold factory.

Had the carwash shampoo the seats, carpet, headliner - still could smell it.

Put some vinegar in a spray bottle, soak everything. Couple days smell gone.

When my first pair of bike boots wore out I got the Alpinestars made of synthetic 'leather'

Never a problem since.

I think the problem with real leather is they eat it - Ah, life in the tropics !
