Moving! Need Movers!

A friend is moving back to the UK and I have bought a lot of his teak furniture, i.e. bookcases and table and a sofa set. Does anybody know of a local moving company or someone with a truck and a couple of guys that would move it basically down the road about 1.5KM? It would be about 1 pickup truck load I'm guessing from one condo to another.

flightcrew1 I was preparing to do the same thing - just a few boxes and innocently contacted a company called

Santa Fe. The journey by taxi from the starting point to the dropping off point costs 50 baht by taxi

and yet this company who obviously have some smart aleck foreigners on their staff

quoted me 12,000 BAHT ! I obviously told them where to go ! :o so I definitely don't recommend

SANTA FE. in the meantime I think I have found someone so please send me a private

message and I will reply with the persons email address to you !

We used Transpro - Asian Tigers to move about 5 cubic metres of household stuff about half a km. It cost us 7000 baht, but given that it was house hold bits and pieces, and it was packed and unpacked for us by 7 guys in an afternoon, it was well worth the money.

Out of all the moving companies we called, they were the cheapest by far for exactly the same service, so it is worth checking out to see what they quote.

If what they quote is still out of your range, I suggest getting a Thai friend to look out for pickup trucks parked around the soi's with signs in thai saying that the truck is for hire.

No Samran - believe me you can get much cheaper than that ! it's OK to use these big

companies for international relocation but locally I have now established they definitely

don't provide value for money :o
