hi

what visa type i need to stay for 3 month to 1 year in thailand bangkok and maybe other places, rent a condo or stay in hostels, and go to cowork places to study and freelancing, go to gym, so have a life there for a extended period?

i dont have a company to get work permit, maybe i found a work there if i stay there.

i am from a country that need to get visa beforehand ,IRAN, cost of 1 month tourist is 60 euro, and non-immgi visa 140 euro!

which was is better,

to get a tourist visa easily and enter thai, then try for extended period of stay, or try for non immig visa, so 60 + 140 euro cost!?

go for non immig visa now and paid only 140 euro, but it is a risk to loss money and time and dont get visa because i dont have any recommendation letter or work permit!
so, please help

A single entry tourist visa will only allow one 60 day entry (no 30 day is extension is possible due to your nationality) and then you would have to return to Iran to apply for a new visa.

If you could qualify for a multiple entry tourist visa that would be a better option. It allows unlimited 60 day entries for 6 month from the date it issued.

You will not be able to get a non immigrant visa without supporting documents from a company, school and etc.

Thank you, but, based on below statement of got from mfa.go.th

(2)   Foreigners who wish to conduct business in Thailand must provide the following documents:

             - Completed application form.
             - Recent passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm) photograph of the applicant taken within the past 6 months.
            - Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family) for the duration of stay in Thailand
            - Letter from the applicant’s company indicating the applicant’s position, length of employment, salary and purpose of visit(s) to Thailand.
            - Documents showing correspondence with business partners in Thailand.
            - Evidence of financial status in the case where the applicant is self-employed.
            - Letter of invitation from trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand.
            - Corporate documents of associated partners/companies in Thailand such as:

is there anyway i can use " - Evidence of financial status in the case where the applicant is self-employed. " to get the visa?

If you can meet the requirements you quoted from the website of Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs you should contact the Thai Embassy in Iran to check if they will give you a multiple-entry non-immigrant visa category B.

For a 3-12 month stay, @ubonjoe has given you the best advice: see if you can get a multiple entry tourist visa. With the help of border runs, this would allow you to stay for 7-8 months. To stay longer, you would return to Iran for another visa.

If you want to force your way in using money, there is a Thailand Elite program, designed for financially secure individuals who want to spend extended periods in Thailand. However, from the flavor of your original post, I am pretty confident you are not suitable for this.

This assumes you are under 50 years old. If you are aged over 50, let us know. There are possible alternatives in that case.

Freelancing by non-citizens is not legal in Thailand.  The law is not being enforced on those working for foreign-entities, but I would not do it in a "co-working space" - in case they decide to enforce it, perhaps arbitrarily.

For the METV (Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa) application, best to show a tax-return or other document showing independent income.  But, ultimately, it is up to the Consul at your local Thai Embassy what is accepted.

When/if you find a job working for a Thai company, you would then receive the paperwork to go for the Non-B Visa.
