lumbar mri

Featured Replies

can any one give me the approximate cost of a lumbar mri with out contrast

and also suggest a doctor and hospital in bangkok that is reasonable.

back has flared up again and probably need shots or surgery, been on going for 20 years.

have had at least 12 different types of back injections and also had a radio-frequency burn for a nerve.

thanks.

For MRI the least expensive option is this imaging center and you can go to them direct without a doctor's order, just specifiy which part of spine (e.g. lumbar or cervical) and no contrast.

Cost will be somewhere between 10,000 - 12,000 baht approximatley. They will supply you with a CD of the actual films.

For doctor I recommend Assoc. Prof. Wicharn Yingsakmongkol

He has private hours  at the following hospitals:

BNH Hospital Mon - Thursday evenings   https://www.bnhhospital.com/find-doctor/search-result/?dname=Wicharn&department=Spine Centre

Bangkok Christian hospital Saturdays only   https://www.bch.in.th/en/doctor-th-4/surgery/item/696-doc31.html

Of these two, Bangkok Christian is less expensive

He is also on faculty at Chulalongkhorn Hospital but given his daily private practice at BNH I am not sure if you can see him through their after hours clinic, but can ask (13th floor main OPD building).  going through the public channel at Chula you would be cared for by his team but limited involvement of the Prof himself, also very long waits
