An 18 wheel truck carrying a large load of cassava flour ignored calls to use a wider section of the Bang Khun Thian toll booth and caused damage estimated at a million baht.

A female toll collector had yelled out to the driver to not use lane number 4 as his load was too big. The flou was packed in large sacks weighing a ton each.

She said he would only get through lanes 2 or 3 as they were wider.

He tried to get through number 4 all the same and dragged a ticket machine and part of the roof with him.

Police came and found him stuck, unable to even flee the scene if he wanted to.

He has been charged with negligence.

The incident on Friday morning caused heavy traffic in the area before repairs were begun.

There was no kneed for this incident to happen. It will cost a lot of dough to repair the damage, the driver should have used his loaf ! :cheesy:

Sure she wasn't talking about a compact driving up the super highway?

The dumb b*tard should have to pay for all the damage he caused, the company that

he was working for as well. Ridiculous

Geezer.

I guess he wanted to skip the long queues at the wider booths. Typical Thais.

Lack of planning toll booths in the size of allowed truck sizes, lack of controlling truck loads, most likely both came together.

Why? (Re planning )

the guy was told to use either of two specific lanes for oversized vehicles, but chose to go the Thai way.

lack of controlling truck loads is a failure in the brainbox of the vehicle operator, and a failure by police to control truck loads

so.... ignorant and stupid driver, enabled by non functioning police force, and when those two come together.... hello worst roads in the world

truth told.... this is a happy ending, compared to what may have been, with one ton sacks overloading a truck

Lack of reading the article applies more here.
