Trump says he could beat Oprah Winfrey in a presidential race

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he could beat media mogul Oprah Winfrey in a presidential contest but said he did not think the actress and talk show host would run.

Trump, speaking to reporters during a meeting with lawmakers at the White House, said he liked Winfrey, whose rousing speech at the Golden Globe awards show on Sunday night sparked speculation that she would run for president as a Democrat in 2020.

Her potential candidacy and her status as a #MeToo champion could be hampered by the cosy relationship she has had with the man whose heinous behaviour sparked the whole movement: Harvey Weinstein, kissing and cozying up to the

man on many, many occasions, so Oprah, stick this in your pipe and

smoke it....

I don't like Oprah. But she is one of America's most liked/respected celebrities and she would have the full force of the entertainment community, the media, and the obsessed anybody but Trump squad; virtually catapulting her to the White house. Even if the Republicans put somebody respectable up as a candidate they would still be trounced.

They need a good candidate to beat the megalomaniac. All Oprah would do is highlight the PC gap in the country and she would be obliterated with only the PC liberals voting for her. Trump must salivating at the thought. Put up a good candidate and talk about policies and he's toast.

You assume that enough Americans care about the nitty gritty of policy, the reality that to enact policy, nuanced understanding of various legitimate interests and compromises amongst them is a necessity; that data, science, facts and desires need to weighed.

If only you were right.

The fact that a guy like Trump even got nominated, let alone elected shows otherwise. He is not the disease, but just the ugly, puss-filled symptom of a seriously diseased body politic.

The problem runs deep. The solution isn’t another celebrity—even a genuinely intelligent, compassionate, widely -admired celebrity.

Yea you're right but not sure your last description fits Oprah.

Yeah, I dont really know much about her, but am aware that she has, in the past, endorsed some quackary—more, I believe out of bad judgement than malice or profit motive. The little that Ive watched/read of her gives me the impression that her compassion and intelligence are genuine. Politics though may require a different kind of compassion/intelligence.

She does have the advantage of being truly "Rags to Riches".

That demonstrates that she comes from "the people" and has real ability.

Unlike the fake "Man of the People" who went from "Riches to More Riches" (missing out the "winnowing" process at the beginning).

You just made those numbers up, yeah? There is no way they are nearly correct. trump has never been over 50 percent approval and Oprah is very popular but she's not a politician and hopefully never will be. Because we can do better than Oprah and MUCH better than trump.

Nope. I get asked by MSM daily to vote my opinion on a variety of matters and I see the results. I stand by my post. If you don't like Trump JingThing, I couldn't give a sh*t.

Further, JingThing, here is Phuket, I have spoken with numerous (about 10 or so) folks from the EU and OZ who are FED UP with the globalist crap being foisted upon them by the likes of Merkel, Macron and other socialist/totalitarian degenerates; these folks I have spoken with think Trump is great. So what is your problem besides buying into the US MSM propaganda ???

I see. So you aren't referencing an actual scientific poll. So your numbers, whether real are not, are totally meaningless.

I'm aware that trump supporters do exist, both Americans and internationally, but scientific polling has shown a massive decline internationally in respect for the USA since the election of trump. With very few exceptions, such as Israel and Russia.

Oh, righto, JingThing...the same "scientific polls" that predicted Hillary for Prison would win by a landlslide...with all due respect, you have been slooping on a BKK bar stool too long to know how people outside of CA, NY, NJ, WA State and OR think.

The MSM polls I participate in tally up hundreds of thousands of votes...

Such online polls are totally meaningless.

Not interested in your "but Hillary" deflection here.

We have nothing further to discuss on this matter if you actually believe that self selecting online polls have any meaning at all.

And "scientific polling" before the 2016 election showed a massive unfavorablility and decline of Trump...so much for your "scientific polls"...wake up JingThing...the true sentiments of the vast majority of Americans and foreigners, are FED UP with the globalist crap being foisted upon them.

Does this fool need to respond to every little thing that pops up?  Why would he even consider responding to the speculation that she might run?

Well, it's really up trump's alley, because he still thinks like a reality t.v. star and Oprah comes from that t.v. world too. He's much, much more interesting in ratings and gossip from the entertainment world than running the country. Another reason I hope she doesn't run. We need to get out of trump's bizarre reality, not MORE into it.

Yeah, buh-bye JingThing...your and your fellow cry-baby snowflake Hillary supporters still can't get over that YOU LOST. And that your polling "experts" were nothing more than MSM sycophants. We're done.

Why do you Trump lackeys keep bringing up Hillary?  Most of us just can't stand the thought of the imbecile Trump soiling the US Presidency.  Has nothing to do with Hillary.  If Gomer Pyle had ran, I'd vote for him over Trump.  As for Trump's claim about Oprah...or pretty much his claim about anything....who gives a freak?  The man constantly lies.  You'd have to be a flaming idiot to believe a word this scumbag says.  Oh, sorry.

Berkshire...please show your therapist where on the doll Trump voters hurt you...the reason why Hillary keeps coming up is BECAUSE most Trump haters like you, voted for Hillary...and if ANYONE needs to be investigated, castigated and thrown into a jail cell, it is Hillary, her degenerate, pedophile pseudo-husband and their corrupt pay-for-play "Foundation".  Further, most, it not all of you, pointed to poll after poll that Hillary would win by a landslide...those polls were horribly wrong and corrupt...now, dolts like JingThing try to point to yet even more polls, conducted by the same pollsters that conducted the 2016 election polls predicting a landslide Hillary win, that Trump is more unpopular than ever. Pure stupidity and arrogance.

Man, you are one angry individual.  What's in the water down there in Phuket?  May I suggest a good book to calm your nerves.  Perhaps "Fire and Fury" by Michael Wolff?
