Is Dental 4U any good?

Featured Replies

There are more dentists than food stalls in Chiang Mai, so I can’t look at them all.

I was just wondering if Dental 4U is okay?

I don’t need a world class dentist. Just a competent one who can do deep clean, whitening,  and fillings.

cheers

If that is the one on Tapae Rd, I know at least 3 people who have been there and were completely satisfied.

Yeah, same road. Thanks very much.

Went there several months ago.  A few of the teeth needed deep pocket cleaning.  Dr. Ice did the cleaning.  Dr. Ice looks like she could still be be in high school?  She was very pleasant and the total was 900 Baht.  I will return later this year for another cleaning.

I've had regular cleaning done there several times and was completely satisfied with the service and price (600 baht).  Sorry I can't answer to the services you need.

I'm going to be a grumpy old person here, but any doctor who is still using her Thai nickname immediately causes me to ask questions,

Yes names are very important, to the uneducated who find significance in what someone or something is called rather than what they or it is.

I believe there are three or four dental clinics in Chiang Mai that include Dental 4U, Elite Smile and at least one other (whose name escapes me) which are part  of the same ownership scheme, use the same dentists on a rotating basis and charge very similar prices - I personally use Elite Smile and am very happy with them although I have fallen out with them in the past over their charges, quality, however, has never been an issue. My wife used to use the same dentists as me but last year switched to a dental clinic in Mae Rim where we live where the charges are substantially lower and she tells me the quality is exactly the same, the dentist also lives a few doors down from our home.

As far as I know Dental4U isn't part of a "chain". It used to be a photographic shop years ago, and their daughter graduated as a dentist and then turned it into a dental clinic. Excellent timing, as by that stage the digital camera had arrived and made the photography shop redundant !

I wouldn’t mind my dentist called Dr Ice... But my proctologist no... :coffee1:

Looking at the Dental4U website shows four dentists that work at Elite Smile, including mine, Drs Jutamas, Benjaporn, Chadathip and Muttaruk - Dr Benjapron also works at CMU Dental School as an instructor but Dr Chadathip only works at Elite Smile on Mondays, I'm actually seeing her tomorrow so I'll confirm all of this. I note the Elite Smile web site no longer shows dentist names but other web sites do hence the link is confirmed - note also their prices are the same. There's a third dentist office in this rota but I can't recall the name, I can't comment on the ownership structure but from threads on TVF there is a single woman who is the brains behind it all..

I've visited Dental 4U for routine work since shortly after they opened in Chiang Mai and as recently as last week and have been very satisfied. Before that I made a few visits to other names mentioned on this topic. I was most disappointed by a pricey competitor and seeming expat favorite.

I did not pay attention to the names. I did have an extraction recommended by the Dental4U doctor done in the States, where they are much more generous with nitrous for that level of engagement, but have had everything else done here for quite some time and am still smiling.

I forgot to add, for the benefit of the OP, the four dentists I mentioned in my earlier post are all extremely good, I've been with Dr Chadathip for many years and I've always known her to be very thorough and very professional, she's one of the few dentists I've come across here who made the connection between what was happening with my teeth and my broader health picture.

I'm just back from the dentists, what I wrote about Dental4U is not correct, the information on the web is way old. A number of Elite Smile dentists used to work at Dental4U, they no longer do so as of several years ago, according to Dr C.

I've been going to Dental4U for 4 or 5 years. I have been quite satisfied with their work and their prices. I've had a dislodged crown replaced as well as cleaning, whitening, and fillings. I have zero complaints and many compliments for them. Recommend without reservation.

I didn’t see this. My two cents.

I had major implant work done in 2012. It is an involved process that requires staggered work schedule. I was very satisfied with both work and cost.

I just stopped in late last year regarding a chipped tooth. I talked to one of the dentists who worked on me back in 2012. I’ll be back in CM next July and have it fixed at Dental 4U.
