Opening bank account in Prasat

Featured Replies

It seems I cannot open an account without my wife signing a guaranty for me !! Laughable. What if I was single? No way to open a bank account?

I even showed them my accounts -with the same banks- from Phuket.

is that a problem  with wife signing ??

just do it the Thai way no problem I would think as married the account will be 100% in your name was this SCB?

Just go to another bank, or is there only one in Prasat?

Both Kasikorn and Siam. I have accounts with them in Phuket for the last 10 years ! I have no problems with my wife but I feel discriminated.

My wife guaranty for me????   How about the other way round.

And yes do it the Thai way and accept everything they throw at you... well I'm getting tired

of this BS.

Have a house, no finance; have a car, no finance, just want a bank account to get my money in the place I live.

For now I stay with my Phuket accounts, they are happy with my money in their bank

She will be your reference not a guarantor.

Not a big deal in my opinion. Wife did it for me to open an account here in Ubon at Bangkok Bank.
