Looks like a King Crab to me. They are cold water creatures so I imagine that you will only find imported ones here, and most of those would probably be frozen.

Most of the better Bangkok hotel buffets have them, and I seem to remember that the Mantra has them also on Sundays. Or did you want to buy them for eating at home?

The crabs my mate received last week were much smaller than these and not as red.  They did leave red dots on his skin though....

I've never seen them in supermarkets here, but then I've never looked for them either. I have eaten them in Bangkok hotels many times though.

I would have thought that Tops in Central would probably have them in the freezer section, or maybe Foodland or Friendship.

Bought one on Dec. 30, 2017 at Makro, Pattay Nua, opposite the bus station. They don't stock them all year, and maybe sold out by now. Cost 1500b was just over 1Kg.

That was probably a special line for Xmas/New Year, like turkeys. Frozen, I suppose?
