Apparently Xhaka missed the pen on purpose as Wenger told him that he needed to get use to going out of a Euro cup in the last 16 !

That's hilarious Alfie. Did you get a new Krankie's joke book for your birthday then?

Leaving clannishness aside, not a bad boom-boom! I thought.

Alexis Sanchez was named the winner of the Copa America Golden Ball following Chile's shootout victory over Argentina on Sunday.

The award is given to the player of the tournament and Arsenal star Sanchez was honoured after scoring three goals and creating another in six games as Chile successfully defended the crown they won last year.

Now give him a long holiday.

Hey Chiqog. Looks like your boy Claude is 'On the Lam' again. Essex Police searching for him. The guy needs helpsad.png

He is manic depressive I think.

Poor sod. Let's hope he's just gone on the lash and overslept.

Arsenal agree deal to sign Rob Holding

We have agreed to sign young defender Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers on a long-term contract.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a promising first senior campaign in 2015/16, making 30 appearances for Bolton and winning the club's player of the season award.

This summer, Rob helped England Under-21s to victory in the Toulon tournament in France alongside Calum Chambers.

Rob is a versatile player, comfortable at both centre back and full back, and we look forward to him joining up with the squad. His transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

We remain in the market, so stay close to Arsenal.com for any further transfer news.

Looks like Calum Chambers is not gonna make the big time then. Came with lots of promise (h_ell - was it 3 years ago already?) and has gone no bladdy where. What's the inside track Chic - did he hit the bottle, totty or casinos? I wonder about 'Plug' too.

Yep - that's why I raised his name in the context of CBs. I think it was said as far back as a year ago thta Arsene was keen to see whether he could bring CC forward as a CB and I think he tried hoim ou there a few times last season.

Played with Holding against the U of S of A Super All Stars for a half and actually looked reasonably composed.

Yes i wasn't just taking the piss. Had heard this was a possibility.

Wenger was very impressed with Holding apparently.

In the meantime we play some Vikings on Friday night. It appears to be only available online at the moment, but that could change.

Oooh already has, it's on SS3 Seerth Ifrica and SFR Froggyland.

Still no scandihooligan station which surprises me.

Just now, BangrakBob said:

Seems like a waste of preparation time playing teams that offer no obstacle?

You do know most pre-season matches are about fitness, right Bob?

Playing Viking isn't about preparing tactics for a game against Liverpool.

Added: 90 minutes for Santi will have done him the world of good. He'll be starting a week tomorrow (barring the injury curse of course!).
