Uk Vv - Sponsor's Passport Pages

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Last year I acted as the sponsor to my girlfriend's UK visitor visa application to the UK. One of the supporting documents I provided were copies of pages from my British passport but I only included those pages which contained an entry or exit stamp from one of the four visits I have made to see her.

I have read information in other posts of people providing a copy of every page even if it blank. Is this a requirement for only certain types of visa (e.g settlement) or is it advisable to do this for visitor visa applications. Also, I am providing a copy does it have to be attested, or are attested copies only needed for documents supplied by the applicant?

Many thanks

Mermot,

The embassy never used to insist upon an attested copy of each page of the sponsor's passport, but when things moved over to the visa application centre, it appears that the staff there were insisting that applications were incomplete without a full, attested copy.

The checklist states that a full copy of the sponsor's passport is required. It makes no reference to it being attested.

Scouse.

Thanks Scouse for clarifying this. Last year we applied before the application centre had opened and this explains why at the time only the stamped pages were needed
