Taiwan Visa Requirement For Thai National

Featured Replies

I would appreciate it if someone could answer the following:

Does a Thai national need a visa in advance to enter Taiwan or can they simply get one upon arrival at the airport.

If a visa in advance is required where/how is this done in Bangkok

Is it difficult to get a visa, the person in question has extensive prior travel througout asia and Europe. Owns a home and has some cash in a bank account.

How long does it take to get the visa, can it be done same day

Thank you in advance

Thai nationals do need a visa for Taiwan, which can be applied at:

Representative Office of Taiwan in Bangkok, Thailand

20th Floor, Empire Tower

195 South Sathorn Road

Yannawa

Bangkok 10120

Thailand

City: Bangkok

Phone: (+66) (2) 670-0200 - 9

Fax: (+66) (2) 670-0220

Bring ticket or itinerary showing departure out of Taiwan, 2 passport photos and proof of financial support such as a bank account statement showing sufficient funds.

Should be issued same day but allow 2-3 days. I seee no problems, the way you describe your friend.

Axel,

thank you for your reply. I forgot to mention that she is a 29 year old single female. I clearly understand the problem with young females getting visas. Although she has extensive travel, owns a home and as a 200K baht in her account.

Do you still think its no problem.

With her traveling and financial background, applying Taiwan visa shouldn’t be a problem for her, unless she has been rejected by the Taiwan rep office before.

Seconded.

The only problem I had with them once, when my son's application was denied.

(Needed to stay longer than 4 weeks in Taipei)

Reason, he was born in Hong Kong!

Had to give them some history-lessons, explaining that Hong Kong was British and not communist when he was born.
