chris9111 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Hi, My wife has been in the UK for 3 years now. She has been given an extension to stay for another 2 1/2 years. For the next visa application on the 5 year route, for the financial requirement can she apply with 9,300 GBP/year from myself (sponsor) and 9,300 GBP/year from my wife - 18,600/2 GBP/year? As according to Appendix FM 1.7: Income from salaried or non-salaried employment of the partner (and/or the applicant if they are in the UK with permission to work). This is referred to as Category A or Category B, depending on the employment history. See section 5 of this guidance. I am looking to make a career change in this relaxed period but as a worst case if unable to find work just making sure we are able to get her British passport. Hope you can help. Regards, Chris

Not a problem at all.
