Gramps with Amps: Senior Thai rockers break age barrier and walker in first MV

The first music video from “Bennetty,” a band of senior Thai rockers with members as old as 86, has gone viral today and with good reason. These aged, experienced musicians can tear it up as well as bands half their age.

 

The five-piece is comprised of grandpas aged 64 to 86 years old and one senior female dancer, who stars in the video as she dances through a deserted hospital’s Internal Medicine wing with grace and poise.

 

The video opens with a slogan that says, “Life and death are not scary things. The scary thing is letting your dreams die.” It then shows with the oldest member of the band,  mouth organist Boonserm Chuchuay, 86, being helped down the slope to the center of an old, empty concrete stadium where he hits on an old metal chair to play. The musician wows us all when starts to jam.

Music was not my cup of tea at all, but the musicians and dancer are certainly talented.

The video was beautifully crafted, well shot and edited.
