Soldiers clash with Redshirt protesters at Democracy Monument on 10 April 2010

 

BANGKOK — Families of those who died when the military attempted to retake an area occupied by Redshirt demonstrators eight years ago will rally there today.

 

The victims’ families and their supporters will gather at 7pm at the Democracy Monument, the scene of bloody clashes that left 27 people dead, mostly civilians, in April 2010. Organizer Phayaw Akkahad said she has not informed the authorities because she does not consider it to be a political assembly.

But don't forget this crackdown was necessary to end a violent tried coup

by people who laid siege on public ground and protected that in military manner. 

They intended to burn down Bangkok which they really tried in the end.

 

Those who joined those militants and became victims caused that themselves.

Only excuse might be naivity

 

The only mistake the than government made was to wait to long until they at last enforced law.
