Trump takes office at Ripley’s Pattaya

image.png

PATTAYA:--Donald Trump may have snubbed Thailand on his first Asian trip, but the U.S. president is now appearing in Pattaya at Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks.

Waranyu Tipayamontri, general manager for Ripley’s World Pattaya, unveiled the tourist attraction’s 70th wax figure April 4.

The life-size figure of the 45th American president stands 190 centimeters tall and is made from special materials that are strong and most closely resemble the real thing. The figure is wearing a replica of Trump’s black suit and signature red tie.

Ironically, the figure was produced in China, with whom Trump has launched a trade war.

The statue was commissioned to commemorate the 200 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the United States. It shows him during his 2016 election-victory speech at the Midtown Hilton Hotel in New York.

The Trump statue is part of the entire Louis Tussaud’s collection open daily. Tickets are 500 baht each.

I don't understand why they got such an obvious thing wrong -- the figure doesn't show an obese man. "trump" is obese. I can only assume that was done to flatter him. Why? The hair also looks more natural than the real thing, which is ironic.

Nah. I've got enough wax in my ears already.

I bet you would be the first in the cue if there was an option to tart or egg him

If it helped persuade him to resign, then yes.

"... China, with whom Trump has launched a trade war."  is an untrue statement.

This - according to Bloomberg.com - is what he said:

" President Donald Trump said the U.S. may be able to avoid a trade war with China if Beijing is willing to open its market more to American products, offering a path away from a confrontation over tariffs."

You're splitting hairs. "trump" started with the tariffs which is an opening move in a potential trade war.

Potential being the operative word that is conspicuously absent from the article.

OK. You win. Hopefully it doesn't escalate but it's spooked a lot of people, particularly American soybean farmers.

... and that's the polite way to put it.

Not sure this was a good idea for Ripley's as they may have opened a can of wax worms.

"and is made from special materials that are strong and most closely resemble the real thing".

So they have found special materials thar closely resemble Donald Trump.

Any suggestions?

Not sure but you can't forget to add lots of cheeseburgers.
