If one needs a somewhat risky gastroenterology operation followed by oncology procedures, it is good to know that it is being performed by a skilled surgeon-obviously! And a competent oncologist.  But how to assess in Chiang Mai?

I know there is the pinned list but beyond that, and the opinions/experiences of other forum members, is anyone aware of other avenues to explore ?

Possibly the redoubtable Sheryl can advise?  The question partly results from a badly botched surgical procedure at a reputable private hospital  in a province way further south, resulting in a thai relative having his toes amputated, followed by remedial surgery at a government hospital which was performed very well.

And of course bad experiences by named medics tend not to be publicised here because of the defamation laws that seem to prevent even the truth being told. Maybe a private message circumvents that though....

Yes, I would post in the Health Forum and ask Sheryl for a recommendation of a trusted GI surgeon at some place like Siriraj Hospital.
