(Reuters) - U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange Kraken will stop its trading services in Japan, citing rising costs of doing business there, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.

UNITED NATIONS/BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syria's U.N. ambassador said a United Nations security team travelled to the Syrian town of Douma ahead of a planned visit by global chemical weapons experts on Wednesday to look into a suspected poison gas attack that sparked a U.S.-led retaliatory strike.

BANGKOK — Speeding edged out intoxication to claim the most lives during the “dangerous days” of Songkran this year, which ended after 418 people died on the roads over seven days, according to officials.

BMA considers reviving Giant Swing religious ritual after discontinued for 86 years

This Songkran's casualties of 418 deaths and 3,897 injuries in 3,724 road accidents compared with last year’s figures of 390 deaths and 3,808 injuries in 3,690 road crashes, the Road Safety Centre said on Wednesday.

Twofold increase in number of vehicles impounded

The number of vehicles seized from drunk drivers during this Songkran holiday period –16,288 – was a 100 per cent increase over the previous Songkran, National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) and Army deputy spokeswoman Colonel Sirichan Ngathong told the press on Wednesday.
