Couple run for their lives from Royal Bee attack - straight to the hospital!

A married couple in Korat were thankful that the local hospital was nearby after they mistakenly sliced into a bees's nest while cutting vegetation for cattle yesterday.

Thongsuk Jaisoongnern, 52, and his 47 year old wife Malee Nakprasoot were working in fields opposite the Chalermprakiat Hospital in Pak Chong.

They were attacked by thousands of bees known as Royal Bees or Pheung Luang in Thai.

Covering their heads in cloths they ran straight to the hospital where a team of ten doctors and nurses attended to them.

Malee suffered the worst and was given oxygen, put on a drip and injected with adrenaline as medical staff tried to remove the stings and the bees themselves. She improved later but was still transferred to Pak Chong Hospital for observation.

Thongsuk was stung less and was given medicine and allowed to return home.

He told Thai Rath that it was lucky the hospital was nearby - if they were a long way from help it could have meant death.

The injection would be Epinephrine.

Also known as adrenalin, which is what was given :)

Very scary story hope they recover and let the cows find their own greens in future.
