Thai Embassy in Israel to oversee safety of Thai workers

 

 

BANGKOK, 18th April 2018, (NNT) - The Minister of Labour has instructed the Royal Thai Embassy in Israel to be in contact with Thai workers there, in light of the recent airstrikes in neighboring Syria launched by the US, France, and Italy. 

Labour Minister Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew, today clarified that the instruction was meant to ensure the safety of 26,000 Thai workers in Israel. He urged the laborers to keep themselves updated on the latest developments regarding the situation in Syria. 

He also called on the embassy to have an emergency plan in place, making sure assistance is provided to Thai nationals in a timely manner. 

The Minister emphasized the protection of Thai laborers' rights and benefits in accordance with their employment contracts and the local law, while asking embassy officials to closely monitor the situation and look out for issues that may affect Thai citizens.

Well, I don't think there was really much risk in Israel related to the recent coalition bombing in Syria. That was a super quick bombing in and out. 

 

But in the longer run, a potential direct conflict between Iran and Israel centered in Syria might possibly increase the risk for all in Israel, Thais included of course.

Unfortunately there has been Thai workers killed in Israel by the people in Gaza launching indiscriminate attacks and hoping to kill or maim an Israeli.  These clowns will get active again if they think Israel is distracted elsewhere and they can get away with it.  No one ever accused them of being smart.
