Strongest painkiller OTC currently?

Featured Replies

All the pharmacies have stopped selling Tramadol OTC

Is this the case with all pharmacies? Before I was able to give passport details and get 2 strips.

Any alternatives?

AFAIK tramadol can still be bought. But what has happened is that they are enforcing what has always been the law on paper, which is that pharmacies must keep records of all sales and only a grade 1 pharmacist can dispense.  Many pharmacies are unable to do comply with this and others can but do not want the hassle. So far fewer are carrying it.

In addition, because there have been problems with tramadal abuse here,  some pharmacies that do sell it, will not do so to anyone they consider dubious.

Tramadol is the strongest OTC analgesic. Other than that, it is NSAIDs. These can actually give considerable relief especially if the pain is due to an inflammatory process but can be rough on the stomach and are contraindicated in people with peptic ulcer disease or on anticoagulants.

thanks Shez

I've been taking 800-1200mg ibuprofen but it's not doing the trick

i'm not actually keen on tramadol, it's good for 2-3 days but the side effects can be unpleasant

was hoping there might be a drug inbetween the two, maybe just a higher dose of ibuprofen?
