Popular Post giddyup
The Vietnam War. This brilliant 5 part series pulls no punches, shows the futility of the war and the stupidity of those US leaders who involved the US in it. A lot of footage unseen before. I found this as gripping as any TV series I've seen. Edited September 25, 2017 by giddyup 4

coops
Just finished 'Big Little Lies' - entertaining and only 7 episodes... although the final episode plot twist which had been building up to all the while is a bit M Night Shyamalan on a bad 'The Village' day, and not in a good way which I think he used to have once upon a time.... Even worse than that, is the rumour of a second season, which is purely an exercise in milking a cow that's already done and dry and ready for the big dog food butcher's block in the sky. Better off watching 'Ozark' if you haven't got around to it... Narcos latest season was fine enough - and while on the war on drugs malarkey, we recently saw 'American Made' - was planning to see 'Baby Driver' as it sounds fun, but wasn't out yet during daytime shows, so a Tom Cruise movie it was... Now, utter bampot he might well be... but he is also most definitely a remarkable movie star... even when you roll your eyes at his name and etc etc... he still pulls it off. Great fun and amusingly ridiculous yet plausible. I recently read an article which noted his style of aging is to progressively look like a Sandi Toskvig impersonator
HidyHo
Just finished first two episodes of Star Trek Discovery ... looks promising to me. So far, more like The Expanse or BattleStar Galactica type of intensity and less like other Star Trek series to date. Sonequa Martin-Green (who played Sasha in The Walking Dead) looks great. A gal named Emily Coutts plays nice looking redhead named Detmer. No Uhura (from the original Star Trek) like character though http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5171438
LostinSEA
“The Street” - quite an Old series & possibly more entertaining for somebody who grew up in that kind of community, I loved it... Safe House, 4th & final episode of season 2 should be out in a couple of days so if you like to binge watch series as if they were a movie, leave it to the weekend Also enjoying Liar, Mr Mercedes & Channel Zero... thanks to all who mentioned them.Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

I don’t allow myself to watch Netflix until after 8pm, and I watch a couple of episodes max. I find that I always have a queue of stuff to watch plus something to look forward to in the evenings. How about less popular series like Bates Motel or Orphan Black? I quite enjoyed both of these so far.

The orphan black one I was not much into tbh. This animal kingdom 2 though, is that correct the mom was abusing the son/s? Similar back story in Mr Mercedes too. I watched narcos s3 over a week I was pleased with drawing out that long.
bkk6060
Hope I don't offend anyone. My buddy brought me digitized DVD's from Hong Kong of The Devil in Miss Jones and Deep Throat. I know, porn movies. But, they did start a revolution that became a billion dollar industry. Anyway, brought back old memories of my college buddies and me going to a dump of a theatre in LA called "La Cave". Sneaking in some beer and watching the flicks with buddies. Great memories!! John McBurney is an injured Union soldier who finds himself on the run as a deserter during the Civil War. He seeks refuge at an all-female Southern boarding school where the teachers and students seem more than willing to help. Soon, sexual tensions lead to dangerous rivalries as the women tend to his wounded leg while offering him comfort and companionship.Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

Jingthing
As a lifelong movie buff, an interesting side effect for me of so much high quality video entertainment is that I've slacked off on catching up on "must see" movies. I can't really explain that. There are still lots of great movies as well. Perhaps it's that the t.v. series are so time consuming it just sucks up most of the potential movie watching time. Reading BOOKS has also taken a big, big hit. I'm not proud of that but I reckon it's an international trend. I always had a book on the go, but now very rarely since the past couple of years with Netflix etc. That’s even with my Kindle, I used it non-stop for years but not anywhere near as much now - feeling guilty as reading is great.
