A Thai man has admitted raping his nine year old step-granddaughter more times than he can remember over a two year period.

Whenever there was no one around he would rape the little girl - he raped her at home, in a corn field and a cassava field.

The assaults started when she was in Primary Grade 1 (P1) "Neung", 63, told Manoon Muangmitr of the Wang Jao, Tak, police investigating.

He said matter of factly that rape was not possible at first so he used his finger. Later he had sex with her and he always told her not to tell anyone.

Eventually the little girl told her grandmother who is the wife of the suspect. The revelation came at the funeral of the girl's mother, reported Thai Rath on Monday.

The case gained traction when a children's home worked with online activists "Because We Care" under the leadership of Techa Thapthong.

The suspect who appeared at the police station in a balaclava to protect his identity has been charged with rape of a child not yet 13.

No chance of that unfortunately. In small Thai villages there are few secrets. If one wag knows , everyone will know.

Yes, some people in the village will know , BUT , the whole world will not know , which would be the case if they identified the perpetrator .

It should be illegal for him to hide his identity. A man like this have no rights. The lowest kind of scum ever been born on this planet. The punishment should be to slowly cut som essential body parts of him and release him from his disgusting behaviour.

Police probably allowed that to protect the identity of the poor girl.

Maybe its to keep the girls identity secret ?

He is a stepgrandfather so likely to have a different name. If he was a foreigner his name and face would be all over the media. The time has come for sexual abuse in Thailand  to be laid out for all to see.

Watch the thousands of victims come forward.

There's a long way to go.

Definitely a sick bastard.  What is with the crazy law "raping of a child not yet 13"?  Does 14 make a difference in a rape case?  Child molestation, child abuse, rape......Jesus

Its considered to be a more serious crime and the punishment will be more severe

The problem with identifying him is that it also identifies his victim.
