Mother dies after new husband slits her throat before hanging himself

A mother of two children died after her drunk new husband slit her throat before stabbing and then hanging himself early on Monday in Buri Ram’s Satuek district.
 

Alerted of the murder-suicide at 5.50am, Satuek police and a doctor rushed to a rented house in Moo 5 village in Tambon Trok Si Kwan and found the body of Sompong Inruechai, 50, lying in front of the toilet room on the ground floor. He had four stab wounds on his body.

 

Police learned from neighbours and the two children of Saowalak Yuakchaitham, 44, that the woman died on her way to the district hospital from a slit throat.

 

Rattapol Khumsuwan, 40, the owner of the rented house, said he called police after hearing shouts for help. Checking on the house with other neighbours, he found Saowalak badly injured and Sompong hanging in front of the toilet room.

 

They called an ambulance to take the mother to hospital and untied Sompong from the knot.

 

Saowalak’s 18-year-old son told police that Sompong was their new stepfather had come to live with their mother and often drank and quarrelled with her.

 

The son said he was sleeping on the second floor when his younger sister ran up with hand wound and told him that their stepfather had slashed their mother’s throat.

 

The son said he came down to find his mother severely injured and Sompong already dead and so shouted for help.

That´s what Lao Khao does to the locals. When you mix that with a new husband of a mother of two. Yep there you have the most deadly combination in Thailand after one car driving staright and a U-turn.

There is not enough details to speculate on what prompted this sickening attack.

There must be more to it than just alcohol. Tragic for all those involved, especially the kids who who have lost their mother and will now have to bear the mental scars of her untimely death for the rest of their lives.
