I don't really see the similarity between someone who is "poor" in the USA and poor here in Thailand, its very different. I'd love to see the two trade places for a month or so.

Your grasp of economics seems as poor as your control over your spleen. Money is not free. Maybe you could have left the money in the bank and paid rent and come out ahead? Putting the house in the wifes name has been a disaster for more than one falang in LOS.
