A school in Buri Ram's Satuek district postponed classes until May 21 after a storm hit on Tuesday.

Ban Khu Khad School in Tambon Sri Satuek announced that it cancelled classes on Wednesday, the first day of the school year.

The storm damaged the hall, roof, two power poles and three large pine trees, which were about 100-years-old.

The Wi-Fi tower at the school was also toppled.

Director Pleonchit Nadkla said the school was closed for safety but she said parents and children were welcome to help teachers and workers clean before reopening on Monday.
