Disgraceful Language for a Public Place

As I was walking through Central Embassy ground floor today this is what they call an Art Display.  Over 30 feet long, so very hard to miss.  Totally inappropriate place to be!

Bad enough when you hear it in public let alone plastered on a wall as such....I can see a correction coming shortly

This is nothing.

During the wake for the late King, Tesco had a concession stall selling black teeshirts with 'wake the f u c k up' in massive letter on the front. We called management and explained how inappropriate these were.

At last Children's Day our friends son was dressed up for a modern dance routine. His costume was shades, cool jeans and a garish tee shirt with a screaming skull and the words 'f u c k  off w a n k e r s'' on the back - supplied by the school???

It's just a message to farang tourists from TAT, and it certainly made me laugh.

Decades ago in France I saw a roadside sign for a pretty little hotel which read:

CHAMBRES
ZIMMER
P*SS OFF

With my previous significant other when the teen Daughter came out wering a T-shirt reading "<deleted> Me". She was sent to change after I asked if that is what she wanted to advertise ... embarassment all around.

Jok's line for foreign criminals!

If you think that is bad, how about this t-shirt.....I've seen teenage Thai wearing it in Phuket.

Probably he has no clue what it means.

This thread's hilarious!

Forgive them for they know not what they do...……….or say!

What do you expect? Thais have absolutely no idea and care even less about foreign culture and foreign attitudes. Very little interest in properly engaging....

....And that's what happens when a country becomes xenophobic.

I'm sorry, but it is true.

Big Bird has voluntarily apologized for his inappropriate sign which has negatively affected the world wide image and reputation of the Thai military and police and other Thai muppets

The lad that used to push the cart for the Monks in the morning had a couple of t-shirts. One was Police. F#%@ Off, the other was Bitch Better Have My Money.

While I doubt that Thai youth have any comprehension of these words and phrases, it is still highly offensive to those of us who do.

The same goes for images of Hitler and swastikas that they seem to proudly display.

Ok, just ignore the kanji tattoos, stickers, and shirts popular in many western countries, or the blatant cultural appropriation and stereotyping in movies, because they can't possibly be offensive to other cultures. Sorry if it doesn't fit the narrative that the west is more cultured and aware.

That's about the dumbest comparison I've ever heard.

I went to a family gathering where monks were chanting. The host's sister was wearing a tee shirt with 'NEVER MIND THE <deleted>' on it. Very appropriate I think.:saai:

Yes, ignorance across cultures is of course worldwide. You can see all sorts of funny uses of the English language in China [eg on the Great Wall outside Beijing: "Heart cerebral disease sufferer ascend the Great Wall to please watch for"]. And Westerners in Thailand offend Buddhist sensibilities every day of the year ...

its only offensive to thais when they are capable of reading it or understanding what it actually means, some of the wording on shirts they wear is laughable, saw one young teenage girl wearing a t shirt with "I luv to suck c*cks" written across it, how her parents would let her buy/ wear it is beyond me but would have to guess that they and her had no idea what it said/meant.

it's just an art piece for an ongoing art exhibition.

lighten up please.

Did the op even read accompanying literature or just wanted to flag his topic red?

The exhibition is at ploenchit central embassy and the artist is Japanese

Grammatically incorrect, but I'd still wear it (prefer it was on the front though).

You do know that the  "mural" is the work of Japanese artist Madsaki, right? Do some research.

No i dont and i wont

It certainly is rather unbelievable to see "art work" available to the public that contains profanity, as well as people wearing T-shirts in public areas that are profane.   As per the following forum rule, this topic is now closed.
