Soju Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 There's a sticky post in the Travel Forum that has important Don Muang phone numbers. Might be good if someone has an updated list to update that and post it as a sticky post here also, along with this airline phone number list.
tcparks Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Can anybody tell me if this building is at Suvarnabhumi airport ?
BrandonShanCheeHoong Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I am glad that the airport had upgraded some of the male toilets with more urinals. Please add as many as possible in the male toilets for the convenience of the travellers. It's a shame that the male toilets in the giant airport could not even compare with the male toilets in a small shopping centre!!!

dazdaz Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I have about 8 hours between flights at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK airport). Is there anywhere I can get a good 6 hours sleep ? Are there are rooms around the airport or in the airport itself, which I can rent for a short period of time to grab some good shut eye ? Thanks

Thanks There is a hotel at the airport, and others located close by (and much cheaper) that would be suited for this. There isn't much chance of getting 6 hours sleep though. 1 hour (minimum) to get out of the airport and to the hotel. 30 min - 1 hour to get up and back to the airport. 1-2 hours required to check in and go through immigration.
dazdaz Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Which hotel is at the airport ? Please write to me privately if you can't via the forum due to the rules. On this website, it suggests that BKK airport has a day rooom. Judging by the picture, does a day-room mean a place that you can sleep ? http://www.guidetothailand.com/thailand-travel-information/suvarnabhumi-airport-layout.php

The security (x-ray machines) are now just the other side of immigration and placed around the terminal as shown.
Payboy Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Louis Tavern day rooms at Suvarnabhumi here...... http://dayrooms-ciplounges.themiraclegroup.com/
dazdaz Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 You mentioned that the layout of the airport was quite old on that website. Can you point me to an upto date map ? Also, is the meeting point still in the middle of level 3 ? Cheers
mtimmu Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 hello guys. quick question, who / where to contact at suwannaphumi, missed my flight last march back to finland, because the flight exist but it wasnt on screens. my wife and relatives were there as well, so i can prove this. typical, i was told the next evening when got a place, officer told me that i was only one which missed the flight. well, stood very close to that officer and after me appeared 5 farangs that had the same missed flight day before, and talked with them. so, officer got quite a face unfortunately for her, i speak fluent thai as well. -- i have chatted about this online with some officers in bkk, but not real mail-addresses / contact infos given. or replies. contacted to IATA, but they said this was airport´s mistake,so IATA cant help coming back to thailand in a few weeks, i think i will give some ´feedback´ when i am back there. this sh-t cost +6000 baht more. cheers!
Jajazazajaja Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 If you are Star Alliance Gold of flying business class with any *A carrier then the 4 smaller Thai airways lounges have "slumber rooms" with beds to sleep in.
affen02 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Warning I came back from holliday a few days ago and as i had 3 packets oif rolling tobacco too much with me i tried to go through the red channel. At the red i told them the story, they said no problem and told me to go through the green exit. Well past the custom on the outside i was standing changing sim card in my phone when a very agressive custom or police contacted me, how much tobacco i had and where i had it. I had three big suitcases packed to the brim, two hand luggage and on top my 8 year old son. i told him the thruth and showed him the sealed full packet bought from tax free with rolling tobac, and said i had three single packets in suitcase. I also told him that i had been speaking to the people at red and that they gave me permission to go through green. Very agressive he told me to open the suitcases. Lucky for me there came an older custom officer and when i told the story again he just waived me on. This guy who stopped me smelled of alcohol, and i dont know if he was working with the guys in red on the inside, but the older guy saved me from a lot of trouble thats for sure. Stupid me, hereafter i demand to pay my tax.
Traxster Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I am always amused ,when I come through Suvarnabhumi that as soon as I make a move towards the Red gate to declare my medication, the people on 'duty ?' get panicked looks on their faces and frantically indicate to me that I should go straight through and not to bother them !! I often think...'well what if I'm carrying something illegal ?..... Definitely strange behaviour......
tifino Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I always make it a point to go Red when have my meds. I don't wait for them to wave me off, as I push my doctor's letter over the counter, and I never get asked anything further. Anyone looking for an up-to-date list of Hotels at/near Suvarambhumi - go to the www.booking.com website. The airport is located in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan. There's something like 21 odd hotels surrounding the, mainly Northern, direction from the airport, with varying ***** stars quality. Good ones can be found from the list, at a third or better cost of the Suvarnambhumi Novotel itself. There is another, within the Airport building itself, charged by the number of hours you want, only Single rooms though, and cost much more even than the Novotel rate. If you are hjust off the plane, about to Check Into fly, or just visiting the Airport and are hungry: The only worthwhile (cost-wise) eatery is the one on the Western end of Level One. It's pretty well smack on accurate with the authentic tastes of real Thai food. I wish all cafes had the same Coupon system for purchases, as it save a lot of stuffing around with loose change.
