Thai cops ordered: No more Facebook while on duty - or else!

Cops in the south of Thailand have been told that they are to stop using social media while they are on duty.

If they fail to comply they face probation, at the very least.

The order came from the chief of the Khao Chaison station in Phatthalung.

A letter banning Facebook, Line and email was shown on the page "Police News Varieties".

The ban mentions no social media is allowed between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm.

Cops need to be doing their honorable duty serving the public good at all times - not using social media.

Police told .... No more facebook, well at least he has got a sense of humour.

Just like king Canute, trying to hold the tide back,.

Dream on pal, all they will do now is hide in the bog or somewhere else.

I guess that means then that anyone selling drugs or pornography through Facebook, can now expand operations. It seems the cops can no longer check up on them. Oh, the cops won't know what to do with themselves, will be like a lost puppy, running in circles.

I do think that it means that the Police cannot use FB socially .

They can still probably use it for investigations and surveillance

Yes that is where the fun starts, copper on fb, boss sees him, you have been told about that, but boss i am only looking at fb because i think this person is up to no good.

So where does social use/ investigations start and end?

Concentrate of rinsing the public more like no time for FB in our line of duty.

...or else be transferred to an inactive post, where you can 'play' all day. The queue is from Chiang Mai to Bangkok already.

How convenient, now your inactive post in an air-con office is just one click away.?‍♂️?

After 4.30pm they can go back to sitting around using FB and Line then.

Just a minor hiccup. It will soon be forgotten and all will back to normal. But hey it sounded good. Just means if they cant use facebook or line they play a game on their phones. But rest easy drivers you can still drive like idiots because the RTP won't bother you

No more playing on the cell phones while on duty ?!!..Oh Dear!...how to while away time ? Picking randomly on farangs passing by,  to check if they have their passports and to hassle them, could be a good alternative !!!?

Does that also apply to the cops on inactive duty? Which is most of them. :cheesy:

I thought an "Inactive Post" was their day to day job :coffee1::cheesy:

Was going to say the same, or roadside coffee hideaways, or daytime BBQs behind the barracks.

They should carry police issue equipment only.

Not sure if the little notepad and pencil to record payments, comes under this...

Brilliant !! I'm sending my wife down the local cop shop to sign up ! ?
