Another one.

This question has been asked many times, never to be answered, but maybe you can: what does Make America Great Again entail?

Once CNBC and Jim Cramer start crowing things usually go south.

1+ Trillion in CC debt

1+ Trillion in student loan debt

1+ Trillion in auto loan debt

Larry Kudlow will be back doing coke again.

Interesting that the jobs numbers are now "real".

And Trump just signed away regulations governing banks.

What could go wrong?

OK brainiac,  Tell us this. Since Trump Turnberry is a golf course. How is he to move that back over?

The most likely scenario is if the EU and other Nations retaliate with Sanctions that hurt US producers then US producers rather than lose their export market will set up manufacturing in the Sectors they are penalised in. Harley Davidson already has a factory in India. Moving production for Asia there would be a good move. And setting up in the European area too. Others would follow suit. The result would be a loss of US based jobs in favour of out sourcing more production. if I want to buy an American designed product I do not care if it is made in the USA or Indonesia as long as it is affordable.

Tariffs target imports but outsourcing manufacturing is a whole other ball Game

Assuming Trump is out of the White House in a couple of years, and half-way reasonable candidate wins the next elections - what long term damage/effects would these "trade wars" have? Both in terms of respective economies and relations between countries?

Short term, obviously some chaos and possibly worse (although maybe not on major war level). Undoing some of that will take a while, and some things maybe can't be fully mended.

Some say that the short term effect will snowball (regardless of Trump leaving the stage) into a whole new different array of global powers. Could be. But IMO, it would be harder to cement global cooperation without the US's participation. At least on some issues. That, and countries not actually ready to step up and completely fill the supposedly vacant post of world leader.

Russia is neither trusted nor sets an example in pretty much anything. It's economy isn't a superpower's. China? China cannot be overly invested in global politics the way the US is, because of the way it is governed.

Harley-Davidson plans Thailand factory to serve Southeast Asian market

The Thailand facility "will allow us to be more responsive and competitive in the Asean region and China," Harley-Davidson public relations manager Katie Whitmore.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/25/harley-davidson-plans-thailand-factory-to-serve-southeast-asian-market.html

To the extent that the Thai facility generates income tax beyond that owed to Thailand, the American taxpayer will benefit H-D's competitiveness as American companies are taxed on their global earnings.

First of all, let me say that "Make America Great Again" can mean whatever you want it to mean.

But, for most Republican voters, they deeply believe that President Obama has not only  been bad for America, but he has been purposefully bad for America, weakening the military, filling the country with illegal immigrants and Muslim refugees, giving favorable treatment to African Americans, apologizing all over the world, encouraging Muslim terrorists, oppressing Christians, and generally dissing and hurting  white people, especially white men.  This is seen as an extension of Democratic policies and social change dating back variously to the 1960's, the Civil Rights movement, or FDR's New Deal. To those people "make America great" means to undo those things, beginning with undoing President Obama's changes.

So no real answer.

I do start to see though that those that say you actually mean MAWA have a point.

And the arguments about Obama are just sad, really sad. To think that way is beyond belief.

The Scott's did not want it any way...

Big taxes on:

Harley Davidson, Levis, Bourbon, Sunkist, Boeing, Ford, General Motors, McDonalds, KFC, Burger King...

There are plenty of UK and other none American companies wanting to replace them.

Big taxes on MS Windows and computer programmes that will not run on open source operating systems as Billy Gates seems to have a monopoly on operating systems, (My computer has only just got back to normal after last months update and countless crashes and fixes), or better still the UK Gov organise a class action against MS for damages caused by "Not Fit For Purpose" Windows 10...

I never said that relocating would not give profits to the Companies but relocating Factories continues the export of American Jobs.

You will need the extra taxes to pay for your unemployed :)

The next question should probably be: how do we get people who "deeply believe" things that are false, to acknowledge their error?

There is nothing wrong with talking about old contracts and making new ones better.
But Trump is shameless as a prostitute who drops her knickers to the ankles.
Respect, suppleness, good
education, behaving are foreign words for this bully.
The representatives of other countries are not like the subcontractors on his construction sites which he can fire in a short time and may not pay.
The importance of the US under Trump in the world will be smaller.
He is just calling out that many countries are joining together against the USA.
