JaiLai have you done a search as been a number of threads - mainly about UPVC frames.

Other Pattaya suppliers are Arc (almost directly opposite EuroPVC on Suk), Deku (as you turn left on Suk from Hiway 7 immediately in that small parade with the tourist office and Trade UPVC on Pattaya Klang going east just after Harbour Mall (I think).

Windsor used to get a mention and think their units were available in some of the DIY places as well as doing bespoke.

Someone recently had Arc from memory and was fairly happy. When I had some quotes years ago they were the most expensive but seemed very professional.

UPVC frames, for me, are much too chunky and ugly. And they are not cheap here. Aluminium is much thinner and neater and smarter, but it costs even more. Prices here seem to be around 3 times what they would be in Europe for similar quality, which doesnt make a lot of sense when you consider that labour costs here are a tiny percentage of what they are in Europe.

I think I've tried most if not all of the suppliers in Pattaya and Bangkok. Some never bothered to reply. Some replied but couldnt give a proper quote. Some would supply but would not fit, and could not recommend anyone to do the fitting. The few places that did actually provide a proper quote and could do the whole job were very expensive. So globally I found it a very poor experience.

Thai Asahi Glass (TAG) is the only reliable source of double glazed units in Thailand, try asking any of the local companies about inert gasses used to fill the units or even remotely vague technical questions and their eyes glaze over.

Have you looked at the option aluminum frames in various colors, double glazed? If you write me I can give you details. U use the same width 10cm profiles, but they are commercial thickness. Massive. I made excellent experience with this. Isolates noise better than PVC. I have been starting this long ago with a local nice contractor. Clear glass installed 2m wide balcony sliding door, installed cost about 20K.

2m window roughly 10K.

I have also PVC so can compare. With PVC really need to look at type and quality and evaluate carefully what the objective is. Good luck. MS>

Perhaps you could just post the contact details of this business?

Hi there

I mailed the poster already and am happy to inform by mail. But the original poster is not from Pattaya, so all I could do is give him the details how to get it done. Regards.  MS>

BTW. As many condos have restrictions on using only these alu-frames, I think the double glazing option with extra strength / commercial Alu is a good option. I see no difference between PVC and Alu windows, I have both types. The glass gets ordered from BKK and is assembled on the job. MS>

Small remark: Can be good to think about weight when you change for double glazing. On a big balcony each door can be very heavy. Mines, uPVC framed, are more than 80 kg (!) and required very good wheels to not have to force too much to slide them.

I use the 10-cm commercial frames, the "thickest" ones. Have some in for 10 + years, never a problem and I feel the insulation noise and aircon is better or as good. Important to have them installed well. For some condos the only option. MS>

I still don't understand the reason for not simply posting the contact details of the business in question.

Hardly a day goes by without you asking for some suggestions of where to source some item or another. How would you feel if the only answers you got were "I know but I'll only tell you in private"?

Just seems plain daft to me. The whole point of a public forum is to share, not to hide.

Dear Kittenkong

Will try to improve.....Yes, TV is a great source, even sometimes only to re-confirm or not miss out on an idea. Kind regards.  MS>

Here the street-view with the Alu & Glass shop, which I have recommended in the past on TV. No, I have no interest in it, other than Kh. Suvit, the owner, is a really good and reliable  contractor and has always done a good job for me and many friends. He can best be encountered around 16.30, when they come back from work, if he is not in, leave your phone with the office / wife in the back-office or his brother who is mostly in.

He is well-traveled, good E, knows the world and does any job, even complicated ones. He has access to all kinds of glass and alu and has catalogs for all the hardware you might need. He also does nice decorative colored glass. Ideal for back-splash in kitchen.

I was just informed, for an ongoing job, that he will soon have a new, even better alu profile for double glazing. We are not talking the standard

flimsy type alu-windows here. These are massive frames and heavy, custom-ordered , gas filled double glass panels. With all the noise, music, parties in Pattaya, a real option to cut out about 80% of noise. Prices are affordable average 10K for a 2m window and 20K for a 2m balcony door w/o mosquito door.

Hope this info helps a few noise plagued TV members.

Like KK I don't understand why you did not post his details at the start but thanks anyhow.

He regularly gets a mention whenever someone is looking for glass/mirrors/ali screens etc in central Pattaya but I have to confess I never considered him before for double glazing.

You could have dropped me a mail, just like others.  I responded to the OP fast and personal and hope I was helpful. I am a bit old fashioned, sorry about that. I hope the mods won't "delete" me for my shortcomings.

And I hope you find him and the Alu double glazing as helpful as me and my friends. BTW I did my first house in exactly that way with this company 15 years ago. Have a nice day. MS>

For what it's worth, the wife used a Thai company to do our alu windows and doors. All low e glass. Not cheap but very good. Owner of the company was a Thai lady who spoke fairly decent english. Khun Noi on 084 692 2424.

Its been 8 months and the wife is still delighted.
