Johnny Depp has spoken about his battle with depression after a host of issues in his personal and professional life left him feeling “low.”

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the actor said: “I was as low as I believe I could have gotten..the next step [for me] was, ‘You’re going to arrive somewhere with you eyes open and you’re going to leave there with your eyes closed. I couldn’t take the pain every day.”

As well as his break up from Heard, Depp found himself in a legal battle with his former managers, revealing that almost all of his fortune was gone.

“I poured myself vodka in the morning and started writing until the tears filled my eyes and I couldn’t see the page anymore,” Depp said, detailing how he wrote a diary to help him whilst on tour with his band, the Hollywood Vampires.

Dud actor and ugly. Amazing what women find attractive.

Women finding money attractive is hardly amazing.

But $30k a month on wine, I'd be depressed too!

oh boo hoo Johnny spent 650 million dollars partying and can have sex with any woman in the world but now he is depressed.

Let me tell you something Johnny, I party with a different bar girl everyday, sometimes two at a time and spend almost all my money on boom boom and I don't let it get me down.

You try breaking up with a new Thai girl everyday. Do you know how many iPhones I have bought?

It's not easy, but you don't see me complaining.

It doesn't get you down because you keep the habit going.

Anyway, I am sort of ok with celebrities "opening up" about depression because regular FaceBook generation can not make a distinction between pretty pictures and reality.

As for Jonny, maybe he realizes that he is a suck actor and therefore touring with his band to make up of the acting career. To most people money doesn't buy you happiness.

Very difficult for me to feel much empathy. I know that the rich and famous are as prone to problems as we mere mortals, but I am convinced that I could manage my inadequacies if I had Depp's looks, money and talent. Hope he does well in the future, but many people are irresistibly drawn to unhappiness as a way of life. Good luck, Johnny.

Unnecessarily harsh, he was good in Edward Scissorhands.

He was a failure even as a pirate. How low can one go and yet maintain an ego the size of an elephant. He has been in decline from the first day he started acting.

He played himself in that role.

I sat next to Johnny on a Cuntinental flight from EWR-LAX way back , maybe 17-18 years ago It was early and he was wearing sunglasses looking wasted.

I don’t bother celebrities but we exchanged some small talk and he seemed to be a nice guy. Can’t imagine blowing 650 mil though, easy come easy go.

I must be the exception (no surprise) here, I like the guy.

Close friend of mine in London on a movie set crew drank with him one night - reckons he's just one of the guys, down to earth, generous and polite. Likes his weed and likes his drink.

Great history of playing unusual roles (bit like Jack Nicholson - different and often basically being himself).

Anybody who was close to Hunter S Thompson is ok in my book...

I like the guy and some of his movies.

Depression does not care if your rich or poor if it gets you your screwed.

Depp's problems?

I really don't care.

Do u?

I have liked some of his movies but his personal life doesn't interest me any more than some random Joe Blow Somchai down the street that I haven't met either.

Oh, Please, for God sake's, could some writers here have just a little bit of sympathy...???

I have been a nobody all my life but even I can see that having been at the top it is a long way to the bottom.

I have liked Johnny Depp for decades.  He has brought a lot of happiness to millions.  It is sad to now hear he has troubles.  Only a heartless monster would kick him while he is down.  You understand, right?
