All around Soi 17, where do all these little cockroaches come from?

Amazing how they seems to endlessly get away with riding around

like idiots w/o helmets and all look no more than 16 yrs old.

They have taken over soi 17 (for years now)...zooming around on various sized bikes...a few months ago the locals got fed up and called the police who nabbed quite a few ,obviously another call is needed ?

It's not a problem...they can pay.

They come from a culture where bribing police is normal. They have loads of money and are used to doing what they want with immunity . Soi 17 is nicknamed soi kaek.

just saw in the news that the police did took them in last night

Doubt that as I passed thru that area just now and all the same cockroaches are about, figure Kuwaiti's would probably be about correct.

It's really a horde of them back in there and guess the BIB are getting paid to leave them alone.

Part of their culture I think. Not so dangerous when you're driving in the middle of a desert, unless you hit a camel. As usually they don't adapt.

Which Soi 17 are you talking about? The one along the VC Hotel?

If so, no real reason to go by there if you are Farang; Soi 17 & 18 is the Arab area.

Pecker head I thought was the term

No, no, no.  That term goes along with the old lawyer joke:

Q:  Why do lawyers wear ties?

A:  To keep the foreskin out of their eyes.

Substitute your own favorite demographic if you happen to be a lawyer...  (Hopefully, these Iranians or Kuwaiti's don't wear ties and we can cut them a little slack)

Peckerheads is probably more accurate in this case - peckerwoods are rednecks

As long as they only race up and down soi 17 I don't care. Yes they are idiots, just ignore them.

I for one am happy younger Arab guys are blasting up and down soi Yensabai on super bikes, without helmets. With helmet on, who's to say what goes on underneath!? How would I know if the guy is even half good looking?

Sure, you can try and make an educated guess simply trying to go by body type, but I've been wrong before.

Without helmets,  they can be observed and evaluated in their natural habitat, and then, when they stop at 711 to yell at each other, I make a move, usually by approaching with the usual "Hey you are from Qatar, yes, I LOVE Qatar! No? Kuwait?".  Works 30% of the time, all thanks to no helmets. It's a win win, any way you look at it.

You sure they're Arab and not Iranian?

Nope, never Iranians, in my considerable experience, always Kuwaitis or Qatari, they are friendly, often sweet guys, once you get to know them. Trick is to make a successful initial contact.

A win win for everybody, really. Some people get to meet new friends, and Darwinism takes care of reckless riders with no helmets, a win win, either way you look at it.

The only people I know who wish to befriend Arab youth are gays. I presume you are. Good Luck.  After 30 years in the MENA region I have no desire to see crude, chain smoking, arrogant ME youth.

You are missing out, my friend! Arab guys may look scary and loud on the outside, but they are often very nice, soft and  gooey on the inside, they are simply compensating. Meeting new people is  a good thing, building bridges between cultures and what not, and with no helmets things are easier for all involved

Hmm, yes but:  a) they're probably more interested in meeting ladyboys; and b) you're possibly a

little too old for them. ?
