Australian Visa for Citizen

Featured Replies

My Wife has a Thai friend who lived in Australia for many years and who has Australian Residency but foolishly never took out Australian citizenship.

I understand that she has to apply for a visa every four years which seems to be a formality

She is now living in Thailand for a couple of years and the visa is due to expire, the question is, can she renew the visa here or does she have to return to Australia

She needs to apply for a return residents visa.

The visa will be issued upon showing ongoing links back to Australia. These can be personal or professional.

Depending as well as to how long she has lived in Australia, the visa will be issued for either 5 years, 1 year or 3 months.

It can be applied for online and costs roughly $280.

Thanks for that will pass it on, not something in which I have been involved before.

I know the lady lived in Australia over ten years, beats me why she didn’t take out citizenship.
