File photo/Air Asia plane arrives at Phuket International Airport.

Many flights were unable to land safely at Phuket International Airport on time and had to be diverted. There were power outages around the airport lasting from six minutes to many hours yesterday (July 5).

Fourteen flights were delayed as planes were not able to land due to the wind squalls that came through the west coast of the island late in the afternoon.

Nok Air Airlines flight DD3125 from Nanning, China was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.06pm.

Air Asia Airlines flight FD3007 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 50 pm.

Can confirm.  Sat in Langkawi for a couple of hours, then circled around waiting for our turn to land. A total of a 4 hour delay, but better safe then sorry.

This is a screen shot taken at the height of the storm that I posted on another thread.

Landed around 8pm after an hour circling. The place looked like it took a battering couple hours before.
